Day 1 - Welcome to the City of Light
Check in to the lovely Pullman Paris Montparnasse Hotel (or similar). The balance of your day is free to enjoy as you wish.

Day 2 - City Sightseeing
Marvel at Paris’ most iconic sights on this morning’s guided city tour. You’ll drive along the Champs Elysées and see Place de la Concorde, the Eiffel Tower and world-famous Notre Dame Cathedral. The afternoon is at leisure so you can continue exploring this friendly city at your own pace. Meals B

Day 3 - A free day in Paris
Your hotel’s terrific location in the heart of the Left Bank district makes it easy to step out and enjoy Paris on your own. Meals B

Day 4 - To Lyon for Embarkation
After breakfast, transfer to the rail station and board the TGV high-speed train that will whisk you through the French countryside to Lyon, a captivating and historic city hailed as the Gastronomic Capital of France! Upon arrival, enjoy some free time for lunch on your own before a cooking demonstration. Then transfer to the riverfront to board your luxury ship, the elegant AmaDagio. You’ll have time to settle in and relax in your beautiful outside stateroom before gathering with fellow guests for a memorable Welcome Dinner. Meals B,D

Day 5 - Explore Lyon #WHS# and historic Trévoux
This morning’s panoramic tour of Lyon will take you to Place Bellecour with its equestrian statue of Louis XIV and Place des Terreaux with Bartholdi’s Fountain. See Lyon’s impressive Town hall and then explore the historic Fourvière district. Known as the “Hill of Prayers,” Fourvière is famous for its iconic white Basilica of Notre-Dame, ruins of a Roman theater, and majestic views of the city below. Later, your ship will depart for the historic village of Trévoux. Upon arrival, you will take a walking tour of this former capital of the ancient principality of Dombes. The town’s landmarks include a Parliament building, medieval ramparts and a hillside Chateau. You will also enjoy a traditional game of boules, otherwise known as pétanque. Meals B,L,D

Day 6 - Wine tasting in Beaujolais
This morning’s tour showcases the lovely “golden stone” village of Beaujolais, one of France’s most celebrated wine regions. Visit the medieval hilltop village of Oingt and stop by the home of a local vintner for a tour of his vineyards and a tasting of his fine wines. Return to the ship in the early afternoon and continue cruising towards Vienne. Meals B,L,D

Day 7 - Vienne and Tournon
Situated between the wine regions of Burgundy and Beaujolais, Vienne has a significant Roman history, evident in its marvelously preserved ancient ruins. This morning, you will set out on a mini-train tour and see the 1st-century Roman Temple of Augustus and Livia, the ruins of a Roman theater and the medieval churches of St. Andre-Le-Bas and Abbey St. Pierre. Return to ship and cruise to Tournon where you will have free time this evening to explore on your own. Meals B,L,D

Day 8 - Tain L’Hermitage and on to Viviers
This morning, visit Tain L’Hermitage, located across the Rhône River from Tournon and linked by a 19th-century suspension bridge. The fertile soil and ideal climate of the region has made Tain L’Hermitage the premier producer of Côtes du Rhone wines. Enjoy a wine tasting and then free time this afternoon to visit the 16th-century castle which is now a town hall. Return to the ship for lunch as we cruise to Viviers. Arriving this evening, you will enjoy a unique view of the town’s history and legends: Participate in an onboard nougat demonstration or follow along on a “ghost walk” through this once-thriving medieval town, as fascinating and poignant stories of its past are brought to life by the town’s current residents. Meals B,L,D

Day 9 - Sail to Avignon #WHS#
After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Grignan, a magnificent village perched upon a hill surrounded by the lavender fields of Provence and topped by a Renaissance castle. From the castle, enjoy a commanding view of the surrounding countryside. Return to the ship and cruise to Avignon. As your ship docks, look for the Avignon Bridge, made famous by the French children’s song “Sur le pont d’Avignon” (“On the Bridge of Avignon”). Seven popes resided in the magnificent Gothic Papal Palace, which you will visit during your guided walking tour. You will also see the well-preserved medieval walls surrounding the historic center of town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Meals B,L,D

Day 10 - Onward to Arles #WHS#
Arrive in Arles after breakfast and board our waiting motorcoach for your excursion to the village of Les Baux de Provence. This hilltop village and fortress was a Protestant stronghold during the French Wars of Religion until destroyed by Louis XIII and Cardinal Richelieu in 1633. At the castle, you will see examples of medieval siege weaponry. Late this afternoon, your city tour of Arles takes you to the Romanesque cathedral and the Roman Amphitheater. The ship moors overnight in Arles. Meals B,L,D

Day 11 - Disembark in Arles and travel to Barcelona
Step off ship after breakfast and board our waiting motorcoach for the scenic drive through southwestern France into Spain. En route, you’ll journey through the Camargue, a unique and fascinating ecosystem of saltwater marshlands that extend to the Mediterranean. Stop in Perpignan, France where you’ll have time for lunch on your own and to explore a bit in this handsome medieval town. Upon arrival in Barcelona, check in to the 5-star Grand Marina, a striking contemporary hotel overlooking Barcelona’s bustling marina. Meals B

Day 12 - Discover Barcelona
Today’s in-depth city tour begins atop Montjuic Hill where you’ll have breathtaking views over Barcelona. Continue along the waterfront to Las Ramblas, the vibrant tree-lined boulevard at the heart of the city. Then explore the narrow medieval streets and splendidly preserved architecture of the Gothic Quarter before taking in the best-known works of Antoni Gaudí #WHS# including Casa Milà, Casa Batlló and La Sagrada Familia – Gaudí’s unfinished basilica which has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Meals B

Day 13 - A day at leisure
Your hotel’s terrific location at the marina close to one end of Las Ramblas makes it easy to step out on your own and explore this friendly city at your own pace. Meals B

Day 14 - Depart Barcelona
