Day 1. Arrive Rome
Tour begins: 6:30 PM, Rome Cavalieri Hilton. A transfer from Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci airport to the Rome Cavalieri Hilton, overlooking the Vatican, is included. Join us for a welcome reception and dinner. Rome Cavalieri Hilton ~ Meals D Day 2. Explore Rome, “The Eternal City” Discover timeless Rome on a morning sightseeing tour, viewing sites such as Piazza Barberini and Bernini’s fountain, the Circus Maximus, and the ruins of the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. Spend the remainder of the day exploring the city as you wish. Rome Cavalieri Hilton ~ Meals B Day 3. Rome / Embark MS Noordam A guided visit of the Vatican includes St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. Travel to the port of Civitavecchia where you’ll board your five-star ship, ms Noordam, to begin your 10-night cruise to port cities in five of the most fascinating countries in the Western Mediterranean! Aboard MS Noordam ~ Meals BLD Day 4. M Life in Tuscany / Remarkable Pisa Experience daily life in Tuscany when you have lunch in Lucca, boasting stunning Romanesque churches, piazzas and a Roman amphitheatre within its 17th-century walls. In world-famous Pisa, take a walking tour of the “Square of Miracles,” where four major works of medieval architecture, including the Leaning Tower, are found. Aboard ms Noordam ~ Meals BLD Day 5. Monte-Carlo / Villa Ephrussi Upon arrival in Monte-Carlo, enjoy a tour plus time on your own to explore Monaco’s capital. Travel to Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat on the French Riviera this afternoon and tour the lavish estate and gardens of Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. Aboard MS Noordam ~ Meals BLD Day 6. Cruise to Barcelona / Day at Sea As MS Noordam makes her way across the Western Mediterranean bound for the Spanish coast, relax and enjoy the ship’s abundant activities and amenities. Aboard MS Noordam ~ Meals BLD Explore the port city of Barcelona today, rightfully claiming its place as one of Europe’s greatest cities. Tour the Barri Gòtic (Gothic quarter), Las Ramblas and Gaudi’s unfinished Sagrada Familia. Spend the afternoon as you please; admission is included to the Picasso Museum. Enjoy the Pleasures of Majorca Your ship calls on lovely Majorca, jewel of the Balearic Islands; explore Palma de Majorca, the island’s capital, and the quaint 14th-century village of Valldemossa. Aboard MS Noordam ~ Meals BLD Day 9. Sail to Tunisia / Day at Sea Indulge in the luxuries of the ms Noordam as she heads south on a full day’s sail to the North African coast. Aboard MS Noordam ~ Meals BLD Day 10. Explore Tunisia and Ancient Carthage Wake up in Tunisia to begin a day of enriching discoveries. See the Roman Mosaics on a visit to the Bardo Museum. Take a walking tour of Mdina, explore the ruins of Carthage, and visit the seaside village of Sidi Bou Saïd. Aboard ms Noordam ~ Meals BLD Day 11. A Taste of Palermo Dock in Sicily at the historic port of Palermo. Visit the eccentrically decorated Porto Nuovo, the lavish Palazzo dei Normani, 16th-century Fontana Pretoria, and the imposing Teatro Massimo. Sample regional culinary specialties at a local restaurant in Palermo and spend some time exploring as you please this afternoon. Aboard MS Noordam ~ Meals BLD Day 12. Discover Naples / Ancient Pompeii Go ashore in Naples for an excursion to ancient Pompeii. After lunch, join us on a guided visit to Museo Archeologico Nazionale, or you can spend the afternoon on your own relaxing aboard the ship or exploring Naples. Aboard ms Noordam ~ Meals BLD Day 13. Disembark Ship / Journey Home Return to Civitavecchia; disembark ms Noordam for a coach transfer to the Rome airport at 8:00 AM.
